Spring Forward

The time change threw us off our schedule a little bit and will probably take us a couple of days to adjust. No church for us - we didn't even wake up until 8 and service starts at 8:45.
So instead, we went to Piedmont Park. It is a beautiful day, though a little cold. Miss Lady had a ball feeding the ducks, playing on the playground and running in the grass. She's not a fan of the grass in our yard - too prickly - dry bermuda! But Piedmont Park is another story - that grass is just fine!

It's Raining, It's Pouring

Pouring down rain today in Atlanta! Glory, hallelujah! Miss Lady went with Daddy this morning to pick up Ms Verna and wore her Florence Eiseman Raincoat for the first time. What a puddle duck! It was a "find" from the Little Lambs Consignment Sale at Peachtree Pres last fall - it is still HUGE - 2T - but will be great for fall. Miss Lady is very into her clothes - a favorite activity right now is carrying her shoes around the house and empting the contents of her drawers and carrying various outfits around the house. New this week - taking clothes off the hangers in her closet!

Pimento Cheese For Breakfast

Oh, our girl is southern alright! As I was leaving for work today, Miss Lady was in her highchair inhaling pimento cheese on toast. Verna said "she loves it! do you mind if I give it to her." Absolutely not - proceed! Heritage is genetic!

Usually when I leave, there is a little fussin'. Miss Lady doesn't like to see Mommy leave. Today, she could have cared less! "Later Mommy, I have pimento cheese, all is right with the world!"

My Big Girl!

Can't believe little Miss Lady is 15 months old! Time has flown! She's growing so fast and I know if I don't write her many, vast accomplishments down, I'll never remember them. Seems like the baby book only gets updated a couple of times a year, so I'm hoping this blog will be a more efficient way to capture all the wonders of life with Miss Lady!

So much happend this weekend - first - she used her spoon! Actually got food to her mouth - peas - food that moves! The picture is priceless! And she did it more than once! (clearly if mommy got it on film!). Seems the spoon Grandmother gave her is the perfect size and weight. We were thrilled!

Taking her new skill a little further, Miss Lady brushed her teeth by herself too! Now, I would NOT have expected that for maybe another year of so. But she grabbed that brush from my hands and stuck it right in her mouth. Again - more than once! She actually made contact with teeth! No kidding. Don't have that moment on film, but now she refuses to let me brush. Don't know if that is good or bad!

And we went to the Zoo with Sue and baby Owen (not really a baby anymore! he runs faster than I do!). I love that I went to the ZOO with SUE - catchy! Miss Lady's first trip! She was unimpressed with most of the animals. Meanwhile Mommy was ooohing and ahhhing over each little creature. Zoo Atlanta is great - we saw the pandas being fed lunch - very cool! And a mommy monkey in a hammock, with a baby monkey doing gymspastics off the side. And we rode the carousel - but by that point it was Miss Lady's lunchtime and she fussed and fussed. "Feed me woman. Get me off this darn thing and feed me. I'm hungry - lets not waste time going around in a circle!" You know that's what she'd have said if she could talk! No pictures from the zoo sadly. Too hard to be an Ace photog and look after Miss Lady. It was a big day that ended with a 3.5hour nap!
